The main severe weather threat will be along and east of a line from Sterling to Akron, and between the hours of 3 pm and 7 pm. Very large in excess of 2 inches in diameter and damaging winds greater than 60 mph will be the primary threats, although storms will also be capable of producing heavy rain and a tornado. Elsewhere, showers and storms will be much weaker, but produce gusty outflow winds to around 40 mph. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday There will be a chance of gusty wind producing showers and thunderstorms late Monday and Monday evening, then a slight chance of late day storms on Thursday. A better chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected by the end of the week on Friday and Saturday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation may be required east of Sterling and Akron by 3 pm. $$

WHERE...Douglas, Jefferson, Denver, western Arapahoe, western Adams, Broomfield, Boulder, Larimer, and Weld Counties WHEN...400 PM Sunday June 02 to 1200 AM Monday June 03 IMPACTS...Ozone Action Day Alert is now in effect for the Front Range Urban Corridor. Request to limit driving gas and diesel- powered vehicles is now in effect until midnight, Sunday night, June 2, 2024. Weak winds and hot temperatures have caused higher Ozone on Sunday. The highest concentrations are expected in western portions of the Denver Metro Area, and along the Platte River Valley from north Denver towards Greeley. Good to Moderate Ozone concentrations are expected on Monday.For areas included in this advisory that are not expected to reach the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG) air quality designation, we request that activities, such as driving non-ZEV vehicles (i.e., gas or diesel), be reduced to lessen the impacts on neighboring air quality.
