This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Iowa.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Widespread thunderstorm will continue over the region early today.
An enhanced risk of severe storms continues to central Iowa early
this morning with a surrounding slight risk across eastern Iowa.

This afternoon the focus for some severe storms will shift into
eastern Iowa. Large hail, damaging thunderstorm winds, and a few
tornadoes are possible. Locally heavy rainfall from a few of the
storms may lead to localized renewed ponding of water or local
runoff and a small risk of flash flooding early today.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Other chances for storms are in the forecast for Saturday night
into Sunday and Monday. There is a small risk of strong to severe
storms Saturday night into Sunday morning over the south. Some
lingering showers and thunderstorms will be possible into Monday
and again by late Wednesday into Thursday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may be needed briefly early this morning and possibly
again later Saturday night into early Sunday.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northeast, northwest,
  south central, southwest, and west central Iowa, including the
  following counties, in central Iowa, Boone, Dallas, Grundy,
  Hamilton, Hardin, Jasper, Marshall, Polk, Poweshiek, Story, Tama
  and Webster. In north central Iowa, Butler, Cerro Gordo, Franklin,
  Hancock, Humboldt, Kossuth and Wright. In northeast Iowa, Black
  Hawk and Bremer. In northwest Iowa, Palo Alto and Pocahontas. In
  south central Iowa, Madison, Mahaska, Marion and Warren. In
  southwest Iowa, Adair and Cass. In west central Iowa, Audubon,
  Calhoun, Carroll, Crawford, Greene, Guthrie and Sac.

  Des Moines River near Stratford affecting Webster, Boone and

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY SUNDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...The East Fork Des Moines River near Algona, or from
  Buffalo Creek near Burt...to Lotts Creek near Livermore.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Water threatens US 169 south of Algona and
  affects some rural roads.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1:15 AM CDT Friday the stage was 16.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    just after midnight tonight to a crest of 17.1 feet tomorrow
    morning. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow
    evening.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
