Limited Flooding Risk. DISCUSSION... There will be several periods of thunderstorms today. The first will be mid to late morning, with the highest coverage west of Chicago. The severe threat is medium with these storms, but damaging winds will be the main hazard. Additional scattered thunderstorms, some of which may be severe, are likely mid afternoon through the early evening. Damaging wind gusts are the primary severe threat, but isolated large hail is also possible along with a few tornadoes. The tornado threat is highest from the Chicago metro area westward. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. Saturday... Limited Thunderstorm Risk. Sunday...
