This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southwest Arkansas, northwest Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma and northeast Texas. .DAY ONE...Today and tonight. Please listen to NOAA Weather Radio or go to weather.gov on the Internet for more information about the following hazards. Wind Advisory. Heat Advisory. There is a low end chance for some strong to severe storms to move across northeast Texas and southeast Oklahoma late this afternoon and into the evening hours. Anything that does develop will be capable of producing marginally severe hail, damaging wind gusts, and isolated tornadoes. Hot temperatures in the 90s combined with high afternoon relative humidity values will lead to heat index values around 105 degrees this afternoon. An enhanced pressure gradient will allow for windy conditions today. Boaters on area lakes should exercise caution. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. Periods of showers and thunderstorms may be possible each afternoon and evening through the workweek into the weekend. A few storms could be severe, especially on Tuesday evening and again on Friday into Friday night. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not expected at this time. $$

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Boaters on area lakes should use extra caution since strong winds and rough waves can overturn small craft. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
