...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central, and
southeast Minnesota, including the following counties, in central
Minnesota, Sibley. In east central Minnesota, Dakota and Scott. In
south central Minnesota, Le Sueur, Nicollet and Rice. In southeast
Minnesota, Goodhue.
* WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 458 AM CDT, Trained weather spotters reported heavy rain
in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible
in the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Faribault, Northfield, Lakeville, St. Peter, New Prague,
Cannon Falls, Le Sueur, Lonsdale, Pine Island, Zumbrota,
Montgomery, Le Center, Waterville, Kenyon, Webster, Dundas,
Stanton, Wanamingo, Morristown and Henderson.
