This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Elevated lightning risk.
  Elevated excessive rainfall risk
  Limited Fog risk.

DISCUSSION...

Widespread showers and a few thunderstorms are moving through the
area tonight. Locally heavy rainfall totals of 3 to 4 inches may
pose a risk for flash flooding, especially for areas east of
Highway 65.

Fog is expected to develop tonight into Saturday morning and may
become dense mainly along and west of Highway 65.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

A showers and thunderstorms may linger across portions of the
eastern Ozarks on Saturday.

Daily thunderstorm chances continue Sunday into the middle of
next week.

  Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 AM CDT THIS MORNING...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central and southwest Missouri, including the
  following counties, in central Missouri, Camden and Hickory. In
  southwest Missouri, Dallas and Polk.

* WHEN...Until 1015 AM CDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1221 AM CDT, The Department of Transportation reported
    flooding from previous heavy rain in the warned area. Between
    2 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. The Little Niangua
    River near Macks Creek has reached flood stage.
  - This includes the following low water crossings...
    Little Niangua River at Highway E, Macks Creek at Coffey
    Hollow Road, Cahoochie Creek at Highway BB, Lindley Creek at
    Mathis Road, Little Niangua at County Road 66, Ingalls Creek
    at Highway HH and Little Niangua at County Road 200.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Buffalo, Urbana, Macks Creek, Halfway, Louisburg, Pumpkin
    Center, Tunas, Plad, Leadmine, Branch, Goodson and Ha Ha
    Tonka State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
