Hazardous Weather Outlook National Weather Service Hastings NE 821 AM CDT Sat May 25 2024 KSZ005>007-017>019-NEZ039>041-046>049-060>064-072>077-082>087- 261330- Phillips-Smith-Jewell-Rooks-Osborne-Mitchell-Valley-Greeley-Nance- Sherman-Howard-Merrick-Polk-Dawson-Buffalo-Hall-Hamilton-York- Gosper-Phelps-Kearney-Adams-Clay-Fillmore-Furnas-Harlan-Franklin- Webster-Nuckolls-Thayer- 821 AM CDT Sat May 25 2024 This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and portions of north central Kansas. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight. The next chance for thunderstorms, including the potential for severe weather, will arrive this evening after 6PM and continue into the overnight hours. The entire forecast area is in a convective outlook ranging from Marginal to Slight and peaking at Enhanced over portions of north central Kansas. An even higher risk level, moderate, is forecast just south and southeast of the area over central and eastern Kansas. The main severe threats with our thunderstorms tonight will be large hail up to golf ball size and damaging wind gusts of 60 to 70 MPH. However, isolated tornadoes and heavy rainfall are a possibility, as well. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. Thunderstorm chances continue into Sunday, but severe weather is not expected with this activity. After a mostly dry Monday and Tuesday, off and on thunderstorm chances return Tuesday night through the end of next week. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation may be needed this evening and overnight.
