DISCUSSION...
Heavy showers and thunderstorms will continue to spread eastward this
evening and tonight impacting northwest Arkansas.

Additional showers and thunderstorms are forecast to develop
across the area late tonight and early tomorrow morning with a
continued risk of locally heavy rainfall and localized flooding.
The heaviest rain will push into far southeast Oklahoma and
portions of northwest Arkansas overnight tonight.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
More widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected on Friday.
Locally heavy rainfall is likely with a few strong to severe thunderstorms
possible, especially south of I-40. Flooding may also become an issue, especially
in areas that receive heavy rainfall today and tonight.

Daily thunderstorm chances are expected this weekend through early next
week as west to northwest flow aloft continues over the southern Plains.
Scattered storms are forecast each day with at least a marginal severe
weather threat, including locally heavy rain.

...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of Arkansas, including the following counties,
  Crawford, Franklin and Sebastian and Oklahoma, including the
  following counties, Le Flore and Sequoyah.

* WHEN...Until 630 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 547 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - The heaviest rain has moved out of the advisory area.
    However, light to moderate rainfall continues to fall and may
    slow the receding of water.
