This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the South Plains, Rolling
Plains, and the far Southern Texas Panhandle.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Severe thunderstorms are possible tonight across the South Plains
and far southern Texas Panhandle. Some storms may be severe, capable
of producing large hail in excess of golf ball size and damaging wind
gusts in excess of 70 mph.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 11 PM CDT for much of
the South Plains and far southwest Texas Panhandle.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

The chance for thunderstorms will continue Saturday and Sunday
across the area. A few storms may become strong to severe with large
hail and damaging wind gusts the main threats.

The National Weather Service in Lubbock has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southern Lubbock County in northwestern Texas...
  Northern Lynn County in northwestern Texas...

* Until 130 AM CDT.

* At 1141 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  light to moderate rain across the warned area where up to 1 inch
  of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches
  are possible in the warned area which will prolong flash flooding.
  Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Lubbock, Slaton, Wolfforth, Woodrow, Slide, Wilson and New Home.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT
FOR SOUTHEASTERN LUBBOCK...LYNN...WESTERN GARZA...EAST CENTRAL TERRY
AND SOUTHWESTERN CROSBY COUNTIES...

At 1130 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 8 miles south of Caprock to 4 miles south of Grassland
to 3 miles west of O`Donnell, moving southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
         tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
         roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Slaton, Post, Tahoka, O`Donnell, Grassland, Caprock, Southland, New
Moore, and Wilson.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from
windows.

These are dangerous storms, capable of producing large hail driven by
severe winds! SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay
away from windows! If you are caught outdoors, cover your head and
neck.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
