This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for South-Central Texas..

.DAY ONE...Today And Tonight.

A Heat Advisory is in effect from 1 to 7 PM CDT today across the
Rio Grande Plains where heat indices could peak as high as 112
degrees.

A strong to severe storm may be possible in portions of the Hill
Country, I-35 corridor and the Rio Grande Plains from late this
afternoon through this evening. Hazards with any severe storm
would be damaging winds, large hail, frequent lightning and
locally heavy rainfall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Dangerous heat persists through midweek. Heat Advisories remain
likely and could expand in areal coverage over the next few days.
An excessive Heat Warning may be needed across portions of the
region on Wednesday.

...ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES AND HEAT INDICES EXPECTED TODAY...

Hot temperatures are expected over South-Central Texas today and
continues through the middle of this week. High temperatures will
reach the mid to upper 90s over most areas today and above 100
degrees across parts of Val Verde County. Heat index values will
climb into the 104 to 108 degree range over much of the I-35
corridor, coastal plains and Val Verde county.

Those spending extended time outdoors and not acclimated to this
heat could be susceptible to heat related illness if not taking
proper heat precautions, such as drinking plenty of water and
taking frequent breaks out of the sun and heat.
