Strong thunderstorms are possible this afternoon, mainly across the far northeastern Permian Basin. Storms that develop will be capable of producing large hail and damaging winds, along with frequent lightning. Critical fire weather conditions are expected this afternoon and evening across the higher terrain and adjacent plains of Southeast New Mexico and West Texas, and a Red Flag Warning is in effect. Hazardous heat will continue across the Big Bend and Lower Trans Pecos this afternoon. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday. Critical fire weather conditions are possible across southeast New Mexico and the higher terrain of west Texas Saturday. Hazardous heat conditions are possible over the next week, mainly across the Rio Grande and the higher terrain of Southwest Texas.
