This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southeast New Mexico,
southwest Texas and western Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

A Heat Advisory is in effect this afternoon for the Davis Mountains
and through the Stockton Plateau, and southward to the Rio Grande.

Near-critical fire weather conditions are possible this afternoon
across the Guadalupe Mountains and adjacent plains.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

There is a low risk of severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and
evening, mainly along and east of the Pecos. The main threats with
any storms will be large hail and damaging winds.

Hazardous heat is possible each afternoon through this weekend,
mainly along the Rio Grande.

Near-critical fire weather conditions are possible Tuesday afternoon
across the Guadalupe Mountains and adjacent plains.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM CDT THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...For the Davis Mountains and Chisos Basin, temperatures up
  to 99 expected.  For the Davis Mountain Foothills and Central
  Brewster County, temperatures up to 104 expected.  For Pecos and
  Terrell Counties, temperatures up to 109 expected.  For Lower
  Brewster County, temperatures up to 114 expected.

* WHERE...Central Brewster County, Lower Brewster County, Pecos, and
  Terrell Counties, and Chisos Basin, Davis Mountains, and Davis
  Mountains Foothills.

* WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...The elderly, very young, sick, and people with heart
  conditions are most at risk in extreme heat.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids even if you don`t feel thirsty, but avoid
alcohol and caffeine. Stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on elderly and vulnerable relatives and
neighbors.

Look before you lock! Do not leave young children and pets in
unattended vehicles for even a moment. Car interiors will very
quickly reach lethal temperatures.
