...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 9 PM
CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Temperatures up to 95 to 97 degrees expected in the
  mountains and up to 112 degrees along the Rio Grande.

* WHERE...Central Brewster County and Lower Brewster County
  Counties, and Chinati Mountains, Chisos Basin, Davis Mountains,
  and Davis Mountains Foothills.

* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 9 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Look before you lock! Do not leave young children and pets in
unattended vehicles for even a moment. Car interiors will very
quickly reach lethal temperatures.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southeast New Mexico,
southwest Texas and western Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for the Davis and Chinati Mountains,
Davis Mountain Foothills, and Brewster County this afternoon.

There is a low risk of severe weather this afternoon through evening across
the Permian Basin, Lower Trans Pecos, Davis Mountains, and Big Bend.
The main threats with any severe thunderstorms will be large hail
and damaging winds. An isolated tornado can not be ruled out as well.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for the Davis and Chinati Mountains,
Davis Mountain Foothills, and Brewster County Sunday afternoon.

Hazardous heat is possible Monday through at least Thursday, mainly
along the Rio Grande and Pecos River Valleys, as well as the Davis
Mountains.
