The drainage connection from Suicide Basin under the Mendenhall
Glacier has reestablished itself and water began to drain again on
Tuesday. Water levels in Mendenhall Lake have risen through the
day to be 6.8 feet at 315 PM and is expected crest near bankfull
of 8.0 feet around 4 AM. Water levels are then expected to
diminish into early Wednesday. Inherent uncertainty in glacial
lake volume will result in varying crest height and timing.

Walking trails near the Glacier Visitor Center may find themselves
being impacted again as the lake approaches bankfull levels as
Nugget Falls trail near the beginning of the trail will begin to
flood at 7.7 feet.

The National Weather Service will continue to monitor the
situation and will update as needed through the evening.
