...FLOOD ADVISORY FOR AN ICE JAM ON THE KUSKOKWIM RIVER REMAINS IN
EFFECT UNTIL NOON AKDT WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam continues.
* WHERE...Kuskokwim River near Akiak.
* WHEN...Until noon AKDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...There is an ice jam in place downstream of Akiak.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1251 PM AKDT, ice jam flooding in Akiak continued to
inundate the community. Akiak airport road and the lower
village reported flooding. Water levels will continue to
fluctuate and be elevated until the ice jam releases.

WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam continues.
* WHERE...the Kuskokwim River near Tuluksak.
* WHEN...Until 1145 AM AKDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways and surrounding homes in Tuluksak.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1239 PM AKDT, Riverwatch Team reported an ice jam on the
Kuskokwim River near Tuluksak. Impounding water due to the
ice jam will cause rapid river rises upstream.

...FLOOD WATCH ON THE KUSKOKWIM RIVER FOR AN ICE JAM NOW IN EFFECT
THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding will be possible as an ice jam near Akiak and
Tuluksak moves downstream this week.
* WHERE...The following area, Kuskokwim Delta.
* WHEN...Through Friday morning.
* IMPACTS...Flooding from ice jams may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Water may impound behind a jam which may cause flooding several
miles upstream.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Now is the time to take precautions. Where possible, move
items to higher ground and prepare your community for
possible flooding.
