of Interstate 40 will receive additional snowfall amounts of
six to ten inches with localized amounts around one foot.
Locations along and south of Interstate 40 will receive two to
six inches of snow and up to two inches of sleet. These accumulations
will make travel near impossible at times especially late tonight
through early Sunday. Dangerously cold wind chill values are ongoing
and will continue through tonight. Any prolonged outdoor exposure
could be deadly due to these temperatures.

Snow intensity will diminish by Sunday afternoon and end from
west to east by Sunday evening. Travel impacts will persist
from the widespread footprint of heavy snow and sleet accumulations.
Dangerously cold wind chill values will continue through Monday night
and prolonged outdoor exposure could prove deadly. Temperatures
will slowly warm by mid week but the overall warming trend will
be dependent on the sleet and snow persistence through mid week.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLANNING STATEMENT...
A major winter storm and dangerous cold event is ongoing. Hazardous
road conditions from significant accumulations of snow and sleet will
result in accidents and possibly stranded vehicles. Widespread road closures
are expected across the area. Along with the winter
precipitation, bitterly cold temperatures and wind chill values
below zero will occur at times from today through Monday morning.
Warming stations will be needed.
