AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and West Central Arkansas. ONSET...Ongoing. DISCUSSION... Afternoon heat index values up to 109 degrees will persist for most of eastern Oklahoma and also west central Arkansas through about sunset. Low storm chances will continue for mainly far eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas through this afternoon. A gusty to locally strong wind threat is possible with any storm. Storm chances decrease this evening with the loss of daytime heating. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Dangerous heat along with fire weather danger remain the main story through the second half of the workweek. Low storm chances again are forecast to develop with max heating Thursday afternoon, generally for far eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.
