...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR NORTH CENTRAL IZARD...NORTHERN
MARION...NORTHEASTERN BOONE...BAXTER AND WESTERN FULTON COUNTIES
UNTIL 330 PM CDT...

At 307 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Diamond City to 6 miles west of Ozark Isle to
near Briarcliff. Movement was east at 25 mph.

Penny size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
these storms.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 PM CDT FOR
NORTHWESTERN SEARCY...NORTHERN NEWTON...SOUTHERN MARION...SOUTHERN
BOONE AND WEST CENTRAL BAXTER COUNTIES...

At 244 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Radar estimates show two to over three
inches of rain have already fallen over the past two hours...from
near Compton to west of Yellville. With addtional heavy rainfall
expected...flash flooding is likely to occur.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for a Large Part of Arkansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected to continue
through the afternoon and evening hours today. A strong to
marginally severe storm cannot be ruled out, especially across
northern portions of the state this afternoon. Lightning, hail,
and gusty winds are the primary threats.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday Through Monday

Hot and humid conditions will remain in the forecast. Heat index
values could approach 100 degrees in some areas. Scattered
thunderstorms will be possible each day. Severe weather chances will
be low during this timeframe.
