ONSET...Afternoon. DISCUSSION... Heat stress will continue to be the primary weather impact through the weekend. Afternoon heat index values will rise into the 103 to 109 degree range across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas today. The hot temperatures and very dry conditions will raise fire weather concerns during any period of gusty winds. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Spotter Activation Not Expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. SATURDAY through THURSDAY...Dangerous Heat Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... The weather pattern will continue to support hot and mainly dry weather through the weekend and next week. Heat stress will remain a daily impact as temperatures continue 10 to 20 degrees above seasonal normals.
