...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 215 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Coconino County in north central Arizona...
* WHEN...Until 215 PM MST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in creeks and normally dry washes is
imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1117 AM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has
fallen.
- This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers...
Walnut Creek, San Francisco Wash and Schultz Creek. Additional
rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 1 inch are expected over the area.
This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Flagstaff, Northern Arizona University, Country Club, Sunnyside,
Railroad Springs, Downtown Flagstaff, Coconino Estates, Pine
Canyon, Flagstaff Ranch, Mt Elden Estates, Fisher Point, Mt.
Elden, East Flagstaff, Riordan Mansion State Historic Park and
Elden Pueblo.
- This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between mile markers 192 and 204. U.S. Highway 89
between mile markers 419 and 421. Route 66 between mile markers
192 and 204. Highway 180 between mile markers 217 and 218.
This includes the following recreation areas andcampgrounds...
Woody Mountain Campground, Ponderosa Trails Park, Thorpe Park,
Wheeler Park, Foxglenn Park, Buffalo Park, McPherson Park,
Bushmaster Park and Picture Canyon Preserve.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
