This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Colorado, southwest
Colorado, west central Colorado, east central Utah, northeast Utah
and southeast Utah.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Dry conditions and gusty winds will lead to critical fire weather
conditions today focused across portions of west-central Colorado.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Critical fire weather conditions will continue Tuesday across
northern and central portions of eastern Utah and western Colorado
with gusts 25 to 35 mph expected.

Thunderstorm development will be possible Tuesday and Wednesday
mainly across the southern and central Colorado Divide mountains,
with a better chance of gusty winds and lightning rather than wetting
rain.

Dry conditions and above normal heat return late this week into the
weekend.

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red
Flag Warning below 8000 feet for gusty winds, low relative
humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM MDT
Tuesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 203 Lower
  Colorado River and Fire Weather Zone 205 Colorado River
  Headwaters below 8000 feet.

* TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, from 11 AM this
  morning to 8 PM MDT this evening. For the second Red Flag
  Warning, from 11 AM to 8 PM MDT Tuesday.

* WINDS...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...9 to 14 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
  quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
