This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Critical fire weather conditions with a potential for rapid wildfire spread will exist across portions of northeast and central Colorado today. Red Flag Warnings are in effect where the windiest and driest locations will occur, mainly from South Park and the southern Front Range Foothills eastward across the Palmer Divide into the adjacent plains. A strong cold front will move across the plains tonight, bringing colder temperatures and a brief period of strong, gusty winds to 35-50 mph. The strongest gusts are expected to occur east of I-25. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday A colder storm system will bring snow to most of the forecast area by Friday. Slick road conditions and travel impacts can be expected in most of the mountains and higher foothills, and possibly into the lower foothills and Palmer Divide by Friday evening. Total snow accumulations of a dusting to 2 inches can be expected over most of the I-25 Corridor, with amounts of 2 to 4 inches likely over the Palmer Divide. The foothills and higher mountain slopes can expect to see 3 to 7 inches before the snow winds down Friday evening. The majority of the northeast plains east of the I-25 Corridor will only see a dusting to half inch.
