Wind chills in the teens and twenties below zero are expected, which can cause frostbite on exposed skin in less than 30 minutes! Please remember to shelter pets, and have a winter travel kit on hand if you must travel. Snow continues over much of the area today as well, before diminishing through the overnight hours. Snowfall rates will be heaviest over the San Juans and Sangres this morning and early this afternoon, and both ranges are under Winter Storm Warnings through tomorrow morning. Snowfall rates on the plains increase later this morning as well. Slick, snow covered and dangerous travel will be possible, especially since dangerous temperatures are accompanying this snowfall. Please use caution if you must travel today, and have a plan to stay warm in case you become stranded! .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday Light snow will be ongoing Sunday morning for the San Juan Range and southern Sangre de Cristo Mountains, ending by early afternoon. Little if any additional snow accumulation is expected. Another quick shot of snow is possible on the Plains Sunday night with minor snow accumulations expected. The main concern Sunday night into Monday morning will be very cold temperatures. Overnight lows Sunday night into Monday morning will fall to at or below zero on the Plains, with windchill values of 10 to 15 degrees below zero. Cold conditions will also occur across the San Luis Valley heading into Monday morning. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
