This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Scattered to numerous showers and a few embedded thunderstorms can
be expected across the higher terrain today, with the greatest
coverage along and west of the Continental Divide. The main threat
from storms will be lightning and gusty winds to near 60 mph, with
quick bursts of heavy snow possible from the stronger storms. Snow
accumulations across the higher terrain will range between 1 and 4
inches, with the heaviest falling across the Sawatch and Mosquito
ranges above 11000 feet.

Scattered showers will spread north and east across the southeast
plains through out the day. Isolated embedded thunderstorms will be
possible near the Colorado Kansas border with lightning, brief heavy
rainfall, and gusty winds to near 50 mph the main risks. However,
hail will be possible with the strongest storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Saturday and Sunday
across the extreme eastern portions of the Colorado plains.

Another storm system is expected to move into the region early
next week with the potential for scattered showers and
thunderstorms and some mountain snows.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will be
possible over the mountains and far southeast Plains through
this evening.
