This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Dangerous heat is expected across portions of the southeast
plains today. With high temperatures of 95 to 107 degrees, Heat
Advisories are in effect across eastern Fremont, El Paso, Pueblo,
Crowley, Otero, Kiowa, Bent, and Prowers counties through 9 PM
MDT. Those prone to heat related illness should limit time
outdoors today. Please check on friends and neighbors, and never
leave children or pets alone in cars.

High fire danger continues today, with hot, dry and windy conditions
spreading across much of south central and southeast Colorado. Red
Flag Warnings are in effect until 10 PM MDT for the central and
southwest mountains, where current vegetation and fuels are also
deemed critically dry. Please avoid any activities that could start
a fire.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms will also be possible this afternoon,
mainly across the southern I-25 Corridor into the southeast plains.
The main risks from storms that can develop today would be strong
wind gusts to up 60 mph as well as lightning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Dangerous heat continues across the southeast plains on Saturday,
where Heat Advisories are in effect again for El Paso, Pueblo,
Crowley, Otero, Kiowa, Bent, Prowers, and eastern Fremont counties.
Hot, dry, and windy conditions also look to persist, with another
round of Red Flag Warnings in effect for the central and southwest
mountains on Saturday. A Fire Weather Watch is also in effect for
Sunday. Please avoid activities that could start a fire this weekend.

Thunderstorm chances return to the forecast as well, with isolated
chances across the southeast plains through the weekend. Shower and
thunderstorm chances increase in coverage and intensity for Monday
behind a passing cold front, with daily chances for precipitation
then continuing through the rest of next week, especially across
eastern Colorado.
