This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

A storm system will spread rain and higher elevation snow across
southern Colorado. Between 4 and 10 inches of accumulation will be
possible across the Eastern San Juans and the Sawatch and Mosquito
ranges. Lesser amounts of 1 to 4 inches will be possible across the
crest of the Sangre De Cristo and Wet mountains and Pikes Peak.

A line of showers and embedded thunderstorms will develop over the
mountains around noon and spread eastward across the plains during
the afternoon and evening. Brief moderate to heavy rainfall and
lightning will be the primary risks. However a strong storm or two
will be possible south of highway 50 which could produce some small
hail and gusty outflow winds up to 45 mph, especially if some sun
breaks occur this afternoon.

A hard freeze will occur across the San Luis Valley tonight which
will likely bring an end to growing season.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Rain and snow showers will be possible across the central and
southeast mountains Thursday with strong north winds gusting up to
50 mph across the southeast plains. Most areas will see a drying
trend with cold overnight lows expected Thursday night across most
of southern Colorado. Freezing temperatures will be likely across
El Paso and Kiowa counties with the potential for a frost for areas
farther south. Colder overnight lows will be possible again for
Friday night into Saturday morning across most of southern Colorado
with another potential frost or freeze.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will
be likely over portions of the region.
