This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Critical fire weather conditions are forecast today across the San
Luis Valley, and Lake and Chaffee counties, from 1 PM through 7 PM.
The main areas of concern across Lake and Chaffee counties will be
the valley floor. West to northwest winds are forecast to increase
to 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 45 mph, along with minimum relative
humidity levels dropping into the 10 to 15 percent range.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

High fire danger is probable for much of the area starting late
Thursday morning and lasting into Thursday evening, as winds gusts
as high as 40 mph and relative humidity levels drop into the single
digits.

Widespread high fire danger is once again anticipated for the area
Friday and Saturday. Please avoid all outdoor activities that could
start a fire.

GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 222,
227, 228, 231, 232, AND 233...

The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a Red Flag
Warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from 11 AM to 9 PM MDT Thursday. The Fire Weather Watch is
no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 222, 227, 228, 231, 232 and
  233.

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 9 percent.

* IMPACTS...Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise
  extreme caution with any outdoor burning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
