.NOW...

...Coastal Showers Moving Onshore...

Onshore wind flow from the southeast will continue to promote
coastal showers especially for the Space and Treasure Coasts this
morning. Some will move as far inland as the Florida Turnpike, even
at Kissimmee and Orlando. As the day progresses, showers and a few
storms will spread farther inland and northward to affect much of
East Central Florida. High temperatures will range from the upper
70s along the Volusia County coast to the middle 80s near Lake
Okeechobee.

It will be breezy to occasionally gusty at times today, especially
near the coast. For beach and boating interests, be advised that
there is a moderate risk of rip currents along with hazardous
boating conditions.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

.THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
A chance of lightning storms is expected across mainly interior
portions of east central Florida in the mid to late afternoon as
low level east southeast flow, increasing moisture levels and
daytime heating combine to generate diurnal convection. The main
hazard with any storms will be cloud to ground lightning strikes,
gusty winds and locally heavy downpours.

.RIP CURRENT IMPACT...
Onshore flow will combine with an east to northeast swell and
contribute to a moderate risk for rip currents at east central
Florida beaches today. Remember to always swim within sight of a
lifeguard. Rough surf will also pose a hazard for beachgoers. The
rough surf can knock you down and make you susceptible to being
caught in a rip current.

.WIND AND SEA IMPACT...
Onshore winds up to 20 knots will keep seas elevated across the
east central Florida Atlantic waters today and tonight making
conditions poor to hazardous for small craft.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
A chance for thunderstorms will continue Monday and Tuesday ahead
of a cold front moving through the area by Tuesday night. Locally
heavy rain, gusty winds and frequent cloud to ground lightning
will accompany stronger storms. Marine conditions will remain poor
for small craft operators on the open Atlantic early this week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be needed today.
