...HIGH FIRE DANGER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING
FOR ALL OF NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA DUE TO STRONG WINDS...

Much colder and drier air will filter into the region today.
Sustained winds of 10 to 16 MPH can be expected along with gusts
of 20 to 30 MPH. Relative Humidities will range from 25 to 35%
this afternoon and may briefly dip below 25% across portions of
Central and far eastern Georgia this afternoon. While colder
temperatures temperatures may limit erratic fire behavior, the
risk for quick spread of fire remains elevated across North and
Central Georgia through the afternoon.

With dry fuels, high fire danger conditions can be expected.

Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities
whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside,
use extreme caution.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north and central Georgia.

.DAY ONE...Tonight...

Light snow showers could bring minor accumulations, mainly a half
inch or less, to the mountains of far north Georgia with isolated
higher amounts possible at the highest peaks. Significant travel
impacts are unlikely, but travelers should still exercise caution.
A few flurries/light sleet are also possible as far south as the
I-20 corridor.

Very cold wind chills from near 0 to 15 degrees are expected across
north Georgia late tonight into early Thursday morning. A Cold
Weather Advisory is in effect for the far north Georgia mountains
Thursday morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday...

Any lingering snow flurries will taper off early Thursday morning.

A Cold Weather Advisory will remain in effect across the far north
Georgia mountains through 10 AM Thursday.

Additional light snowfall is possible in the mountains Friday night
or Saturday morning.

Another potential storm system could bring wintry precipitation to
portions of the area Saturday night into Sunday, but confidence
remains very low in this outcome.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not requested but spotters are encouraged
to submit reports through the web by going to
