A Heat Advisory remains in effect for much of north and central Georgia from noon today and continuing through tonight. High heat and humidity will bring heat indices into the triple digits this afternoon and both temperatures and humidity will remain elevated tonight. Please exercise caution if outdoors and check on vulnerable neighbors. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon. Strong wind gusts and heavy rainfall will be the primary threats with any storms that do form. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday... Hot and humid conditions will persist through the weekend, with heat indices in the triple digits each day. The Heat Advisory continues through 8pm Saturday. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected each afternoon through the weekend into next week. Locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds will be primary storm threats. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not requested but spotters are encouraged to submit reports of severe weather through the web by going to weather.gov/atlanta.
