This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North and Central Georgia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight...

Moderate rainfall is expected to continue across portions of
central Georgia through the morning hours. This activity will
carry a threat for persistent rainfall which may lead to isolated
flash flooding.

Scattered heavy rain showers and thunderstorms are expected
to develop across north and central this afternoon and are
expected to persist through the evening. An isolated strong
thunderstorm is possible with gusty winds...frequent
lightning...and local flash flooding due to heavy rain the main
threats.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday...

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms can be expected across the area
each day through Tuesday. On any given day, A few storms could be
strong with the main hazards being gusty winds, frequent
lightning and heavy rainfall. The best chance for thunderstorms
each day will be during the afternoon and evening hours. Localized
flooding will also be possible where storms remain over an area
for prolonged periods.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 PM EDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN MUSCOGEE...NORTHWESTERN TALBOT AND SOUTHEASTERN HARRIS
COUNTIES...

At 1000 AM EDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding in
reported multiple roads closed  in the southeast portion of Harris
County due to flash flooding along with water over Highway 27.
Numerous trees are downed on roadways as well. Five to eight inches
of rain have fallen across the warned area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Waverly Hall, Ellerslie, Flat Rock, Baughville, Midland and Cataula.

Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are possible in the
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northern Marion County in west central Georgia...
  Eastern Muscogee County in west central Georgia...
  Northeastern Chattahoochee County in west central Georgia...
  Southern Talbot County in west central Georgia...
  Western Taylor County in west central Georgia...

* Until 315 PM EDT Wednesday.

* At 907 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to
  begin shortly. Two to four inches is estimated to have fallen with
  another one to two of additional rain possible.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Junction City, North Fort Benning, Upatoi, Juniper, Vista Terrace,
  Charing, Oakland, Mauk, Howard, Marion Estates, Eelbeck/West Fort
  Benning, Wesley Church and Flat Rock.

...The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Georgia...

  Chattahoochee River near Columbus affecting Lee...Russell...
  Chattahoochee and Muscogee Counties


.Recent heavy rainfall has caused significant runoff into streams and
rivers which will cause flooding in some areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property.

The latest stage data was furnished in cooperation with the United
States Geological Survey.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a
* Flood Warning for
  The Chattahoochee River near Columbus.
* From this morning until late tonight.
* At 7AM Wednesday the stage was 26.4 feet...and
  rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage this morning and continue to
  rise to near 27.7 feet by this afternoon.The river will fall below
  flood stage by this evening.
* At 28 feet...Minor flooding continues along the river upstream
  and downstream from the gage on the 14th Street bridge. Portions of
  the River Walk in Columbus will be flooded around one foot deep and
  closed to the public. The Phenix City Amphitheater on the Alabama
  side will begin to flood.
