This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Iowa.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight

Light snow is possible at times and may lead to a few areas with
snow covered roads.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the area on Friday.
Please refer to the National Weather Service website at
weather.gov/desmoines for further details.

Wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph are expected on Friday. Very cold wind
chills of 10 to 20 below zero are possible at times from late
Friday night through Monday morning.

Spotter activation will not be needed, though reports for snowfall
and winter weather conditions are always appreciated.

* WHAT...Snow showers and squalls. Total snow accumulations up to
  one inch. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Much of central and northern Iowa.

* WHEN...From 6 AM to 9 PM CST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on periods of rapidly reduced visibility. Localized
  whiteout blizzard conditions possible. The hazardous conditions
  could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds
  could bring down tree branches.
