River forecasts include observed precipitation, as well as expected
precipitation over the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you encounter a flooded area, turn around and find an alternate
route. Turn around, do not drown.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Raccoon River at Des Moines Fleur Dr, or From Walnut Creek...to
  the Des Moines River.
* Until early Tuesday morning.
* At  9:45 AM Thursday the stage was 13.3 feet, or 1.3 feet above
  Flood Stage.
* Flood Stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Forecast...rise to 13.7 feet, or 1.7 feet above Flood Stage, Friday
  morning. Then begin falling and go below Flood Stage early Tuesday
  morning.
* Impact...At 13.5 feet, Water affects the low areas of Water Works
  Park.

  Center Street dam...to Runnells.
* Until Tuesday morning.
* At 10:00 AM Thursday the stage was 25.0 feet, or 1.0 foot above
  Flood Stage.
* Flood Stage is 24.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Forecast...rise to 25.1 feet, or 1.1 feet above Flood Stage,
  Saturday afternoon. Then begin falling and go below Flood Stage
  Tuesday morning.
* Impact...At 24.5 feet, Deans Lake is closed.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Iowa.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight

Flood Watches or Warnings remain in effect for portions of the
area. Please refer to the National Weather Service website at
weather.gov/desmoines for further details.

An isolated thunderstorm will be possible this afternoon and
evening. A brief landspout tornado will be possible with any of
the stronger storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Flood Watches or Warnings will remain in effect for portions of
the area through much of the coming week. Please refer to the
National Weather Service website at weather.gov/desmoines for
further details.

Periods of thunderstorms will be possible for portions of the area
Friday through Wednesday. At this time the severe weather threat
is low.

Spotter activation may be needed this afternoon.
