  Raccoon River at Des Moines Fleur Dr affecting Polk County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...The Des Moines River at Des Moines SE 6th St, or from
  below the Center Street dam...to Runnells.

* WHEN...From this evening to Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, The bike trail is closed east of Water St.
  Water affects portions of other bike trails.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 23.1 feet and rising.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this evening to a crest of 24.3 feet tomorrow morning. It
    will then fall below flood stage early Thursday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 24.0 feet.

* WHERE...The Raccoon River at Des Moines Fleur Dr, or from Walnut
  Creek...to the Des Moines River.

* WHEN...From this evening to tomorrow afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 11.3 feet, George Flagg Parkway is closed from Park
  Ave to SW 30th St.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 6:45 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 11.2 feet and rising.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late this evening to a crest of 12.1 feet just after midnight
    tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Iowa.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight

Isolated thunderstorms are forecast at times today and tonight.
However, severe weather and heavy rain are not expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Scattered thunderstorms are forecast from Wednesday afternoon into
Wednesday night. A few storms could produce hail or gusty winds,
and even weak funnel clouds. However, the overall severe weather
threat is marginal.

Thunderstorms will also be possible Friday afternoon and evening,
however, severe weather is not anticipated during that time.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may be needed this evening into tonight, especially
across the southwest half of Iowa.
