A High Wind Warning is in effect early Friday morning for the
area. Please refer to the National Weather Service website at
weather.gov/desmoines for further details.

Chances for snow return to the forecast between Saturday night and
Sunday night along with increasing, gusty winds. Impacts are
likely, especially across northern Iowa.

...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to around 60 mph
  expected. Isolated gusts of 60 to 65 mph are possible.

* WHERE...Central and northern Iowa, including I-35 and I-80.

* WHEN...Until 10 AM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
  Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
  especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and
avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution
if you must drive.
