This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, east central Nebraska, northeast Nebraska and southeast
Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Prolonged above average temperatures will promote ice movement on
area rivers and streams and increase the potential for ice jams and
lowland flooding, especially along the Platte, Elkhorn and Loup
rivers. If ice jams develop, lowland flooding would be possible.
Prepare for quick increases in water levels.

Very high to extreme fire danger is expected across eastern Nebraska
on this afternoon as dry conditions are met with gusty winds. Use
extra caution to avoid starting fires and carefully monitor recently
burned areas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Persistent warm weather will lead to increasing potential for ice
jams through this week or until rivers are largely ice-free.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
