...Stifling Heat Persists Through Saturday...

.Hot temperatures and high humidity is expected to continue today
and Saturday over much of Iowa. Little relief from the heat is
forecast tonight with lows remaining in the 70s to around 80.
Saturday, the hot and humid conditions will begin to break across
northern Iowa followed by more seasonal temperatures returning to
the entire area by Sunday.

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT
SATURDAY...

* TEMPERATURE...The combination of temperatures in the 90s and dew points
  in the 70s will produce daytime heat index values of 105 to 115
  degrees through Saturday. Overnight lows will remain warm in
  the middle 70s to near 80.

* IMPACTS...Heat-related illnesses may occur due to the
  prolonged period of heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot
temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a DANGEROUS
SITUATION in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of
fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and
check up on relatives and neighbors.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Thunderstorm chances return Saturday into Sunday morning. A few
severe storms are possible along with locally heavy rainfall
likely.

An Excessive Heat Warning continues in effect for the area into
Saturday evening. Please refer to the National Weather Service
