...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TODAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 5
  inches.

* WHERE...Winnebago, McHenry, Boone and Ogle Counties.

* WHEN...Until noon CST today.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet
and ice will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Elevated Ice accumulation Risk.
  Elevated Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Freezing rain is expected this evening, mixing with or completely
changing to snow in northern locations. Ice accumulations of one
tenth to up to near one quarter of an inch are expected. This
will cause impacts to the evening commute area wide. Snow is
favored overnight in northern locations with total accumulations
approaching six inches by daybreak in and near the Rockford area.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Wednesday...
  Limited Snow Risk.
  Limited Ice Accumulation Risk.
  Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
Thursday and Friday...
  Significant Excessive Cold Risk.
Saturday...
  Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.
Sunday and Monday...
  Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Snow and possibly some brief freezing drizzle is likely north of
Interstate 80 Wednesday morning. Accumulating snow will likely cause
impacts to the morning commute in northern locations.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight though
reports of precipitation type and snowfall amounts will be helpful.
