This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated hail risk...up to quarter size.
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.
  Limited Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Convective instability has been somewhat limited by widespread
cloud cover lingering from showers this morning. Even so the
humid airmass ahead of the approaching cold front and under a
decent midlevel jet streak should be able to support development
of some thunderstorms this afternoon and those that do form
could produce large hail and damaging winds, though the latest
SPC update suggests the severe coverage would be limited.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Tuesday...
  Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
  Limited Flooding Risk.
Wednesday through Friday...
  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Saturday...
  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.
Sunday...
  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and
evening. A very warm and humid air mass will be in place from
mid to late week into the weekend. Thunderstorms are possible at
 times.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may be needed this afternoon and early evening.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the east and northeast at 40 to 45 mph.
