Illinois...northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Showers and perhaps and few embedded thunderstorms are expected
this evening, primarily north and west of the I-55 corridor.
A few showers and storms may produce downpours.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Sunday...
  Limited Non-Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Monday Night through Wednesday...
  Limited Thunderstorm Risk at times...with an associated:
    Level 2 of 5 Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
  Limited Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION...

South to southwest winds will gust to 35 to 40 mph during the
late morning and afternoon on Sunday.

Warmer temperatures and frequent chances for rain and
thunderstorms can be expected next week. Periods of strong to
severe thunderstorms may occur mainly Monday night onward.

  Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

  Fox River at Algonquin Lock & Dam tailwater affecting Lake IL,
  McHenry and Kane Counties.

  Kankakee River at Dunns Bridge affecting Jasper and Porter
  Counties.

  Kankakee River at Shelby affecting Newton and Lake IN Counties.

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Illinois...

  Des Plaines River near Gurnee affecting Lake IL County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or
may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the
warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and
property.

These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as
forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the
rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may
cause changes to these river forecasts.

* WHERE...Des Plaines River from US-41 in Gurnee downstream to
  Townline Road in Vernon Hills, including the Gurnee gauge.

* WHEN...Until Tuesday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, Forest land inundated near the river in
  Gurnee.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 7.1 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:30 PM CDT Saturday was 7.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 7.2
    feet early Monday morning. It will then fall below flood
    stage early Tuesday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 7.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Winaki Trail and Onaway Trail are
  threatened south of Algonquin. Athletic fields inundated at Judson
  College in Elgin.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 9.8 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:30 PM CDT Saturday was 9.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    early Tuesday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
