This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

Slow-moving showers and some thunderstorms will continue through
early evening. Locally heavy rainfall will be seen, possibly
resulting in minor flooding. In addition, funnel clouds will
occur with some of the showers and storms, possibly even a brief
tornado or two. Overall though, the severe risk is low.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

The first significant heat episode of the summer will occur
Saturday into early next week, with heat indices potentially
topping 105 on multiple days along with high confidence in very
warm nighttime lows. This may result in prolonged heat stress
impacts.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not anticipated into tonight, but any
reports of funnel clouds or rainfall in excess of one inch through
early evening are appreciated.

...Funnel Clouds and Weak, Brief Tornadoes Possible This Afternoon...

Conditions are favorable for the development of funnel clouds, and
possibly brief, weak tornadoes.  The National Weather Service will
continue to closely monitor the situation, and may issue a
Tornado Warning if the threat increases. If you see a funnel cloud
or tornado, seek shelter indoors and then contact your local law
enforcement agency for relay to the National Weather Service.

...EXTREME HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
SUNDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values above 105
  possible for multiple days, potentially into early next week.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Illinois and east central,
  northeast, and southeast Iowa.

* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is forecast to be little reprieve
  during the nights, with low temperatures in the mid to possibly
  upper 70s.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
