...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...
Kentucky...Illinois...Missouri...

  Ohio River at Newburgh Dam...Mount Vernon...J.T. Myers Dam...
  Shawneetown...Paducah...Cairo...

.Minor to moderate flooding has developed along much of the Lower
Ohio River due to recent heavy rain. Newburgh Dam is currently cresting,
Mount Vernon is forecast to crest Tuesday morning, and J.T. Myers Dam,
Shawneetown, Paducah, and Cairo are forecast to crest Wednesday morning.
Check back often for possible adjustments to the forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

  the Ohio River at Shawneetown
* until Sunday evening.
* At  9:30 PM Monday the stage was 38.5 feet.
* Flood Stage is 33.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 39.6 feet by
  Wednesday early afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage
  Sunday afternoon.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways
in Indiana...

  East Fork White River...Wabash River...White River...


.Widespread flooding continues across Indiana as a result of
several periods of rain over the last two weeks. Some areas have
seen rainfall amounts in excess of 10 inches.

Moderate flooding is ongoing or expected for the lower portions of
the Wabash, White, and East Fork White rivers through the middle of
the week.

Less than half an inch of rain is expected through next weekend.
This will allow rivers to recede.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

  The Wabash River at Mount Carmel.
* until Wednesday July 03.
* At  8:45 PM Monday the stage was 26.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...It will rise to near 27.3 feet by Wednesday morning then
  begin falling. It will fall below flood stage Wednesday July 03.
* At 27.5 feet...In the City of Mt. Carmel, all local roads flooded
  east of the levee except for South Division.

.Minor flooding continues along the Wabash River at New Harmony.
The river is forecast to crest just shy of moderate flood stage
near 19.9 feet on Thursday morning. Flooding will continue until
further notice.

* At  8:30 PM Monday the stage was 19.0 feet.
* Flood Stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 19.9 feet by
  Thursday morning then begin a slow fall.
* Impact...At 20.0 Feet...Parts of northern New Harmony begin to flood
  and sandbagging becomes necessary in town.

.Runoff from recent heavy rain has caused the Little Wabash River
at Carmi to rise into minor flood stage. The river is forecast
to crest near 30.3 feet Friday afternoon.

* Impact...At 32.0 Feet...Flood waters flow up McHenry slough and
  areas near Route 1 and 14 in Carmi begin to flood.
