* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero
  could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

...Scattered Snow Showers and Blowing Snow Early This Morning...

Narrow bands of snow showers will continue at times through early
this morning over portions of northern Illinois and northwest
Indiana. Visibility may drop below 1 mile at times directly
beneath one of these bands and lead to hazardous travel
conditions. Strong west northwest winds gusting up to 40 mph will
also lead to blowing and drifting snow, especially in rural and
open areas. Use extra caution if traveling early this morning!

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.

Weather hazards expected...

  Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.
  Limited Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Scattered wind-whipped snow showers are expected late tonight along
an arctic cold front. These snow showers will produce sharply reduced
visibilities and may lay down a quick coating of snow onto roads on a
localized basis, causing them to become slick.

Wind chills of 20 to 25 degrees below zero are expected overnight
through Monday morning behind the arctic front.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

  Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Another clipper system may produce a swath of snow in the general
area Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Another shot of bitterly cold temperatures may arrive by the end
of this week.
