Illinois...northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
  Limited Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Showers and a few thunderstorms will push across parts of the
region tonight, with the greatest chances across northwest
Illinois. The main threats from the strongest storms  and outflow
will be gusty winds to 40 mph and brief heavy rainfall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Tuesday and Wednesday...
  Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
     Level 1 of 5 Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
  Limited Flooding Risk.
  Elevated Excessive Heat Risk south of I-80.

Thursday through Sunday...
  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Periodic thunderstorm chances will exist into the weekend, as
a nearly stationary frontal boundary lingers in the vicinity.
The strongest storms may be capable of producing damaging
wind gusts and localized flooding.

While lower than the past few days, afternoon peak heat indices
near 100 to 105 degrees are expected, mainly south of I-80.

  Moving toward the east-northeast at 20 to 30 mph.
