This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited Thunderstorm Risk this afternoon in northwestern Indiana.
  Significant Fog Risk.

DISCUSSION...

A thunderstorm or two may move across northwestern Indiana through
this evening.

Dense fog is expected to move inland from Lake Michigan after
sunset.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Friday...
  Significant Fog Risk in the morning.
  Elevated Flooding Risk.
  Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
     Level 3 of 5 Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Saturday night into Sunday morning:
  Elevated  frost and freeze Risk.

DISCUSSION...

A line of thunderstorms is expected to move across the area late
Friday afternoon through Friday night. Pockets of damaging winds,
damaging hail, and even a tornado may occur especially along and
west of Interstate 39.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

  Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

* IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

...The Flood Watch continues for the following rivers in Indiana...

  Kankakee River at Shelby affecting Newton and Lake IN Counties.

For the Kankakee River...including Shelby...flooding is possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means water levels above flood stage are possible, but
not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts. Persons along
rivers and streams in the watch area should monitor the latest
forecasts and be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as
forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the
rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may
cause changes to these river forecasts.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

* WHAT...Flooding is possible.

* WHERE...Kankakee River from Near I-65 and De Motte downstream to
  IL/IN state line, including the Shelby gauge.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 10.5 feet, Water overflows low-lying river banks
  along Bluegrass Road east of Sumava Resorts and along Westwood
  Drive and Island Boulevard near Shelby. Water begins to be
  diverted through the Blackberry Marsh Spillway to reduce flood
  impacts.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:45 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 9.9 feet.
  - Forecast...Flood stage may be reached Sunday morning.
  - Flood stage is 10.5 feet.
