SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, and west
  central Indiana.

* WHEN...From 1 AM Friday to 10 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero
  could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
  Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged
  exposure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

A WINTER STORM WATCH is in effect for much of Central and Southern
Indiana on Saturday and Sunday. Snow is expected late Saturday into
Sunday as a winter storm passes to the south. Exact details remain
uncertain. More significant impacts are possible across southern
Central Indiana.

Very cold weather will be expected through early next work week.

EVENING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 4 and
  7 inches possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central,
  southeast, southwest, and west central Indiana.

* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Confidence on snowfall amounts remains low,
  especially near and north of I-70.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.

Persons should consider delaying travel. If travel is necessary,
drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along
with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables,
flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a
first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case
you become stranded.
