Hazardous Weather Outlook

611 PM MDT Wed Apr 24 2024 /711 PM CDT Wed Apr 24 2024/

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska...
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT...

Patchy to locally dense fog tonight will be possible, mainly east of
the Colorado border.

Strong to briefly severe thunderstorms are forecast after midnight
for locations along and east of a Hitchcock to Graham county line.
Large hail and torrential rainfall will be the primary hazards.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...

Severe weather remains forecasted Thursday afternoon and evening for
the majority of the Tri-State area. Numerous scenarios for failure
do exist with this setup. If storms do form large to very large hail,
torrential rainfall, damaging winds and tornadoes, perhaps
significant, would all be possible.

Low relative humidity and wind gusts near 40 MPH will promote very
high to locally extreme grassland fire spread potential for
locations along and south of Interstate 70.

Thursday afternoon may see patches of blowing dust, mainly near and
south of the Interstate 70 corridor.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected tonight, but is requested for
Thursday.
