Thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage this afternoon and especially tonight. A few storms late this afternoon and evening could be severe with damaging wind gusts. By this evening and overnight, repeated rounds of heavy rain over the same locations may lead to flooding. A Flood Watch is in effect this afternoon through Wednesday morning. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Kansas, including
the following counties, in north central Kansas, Clay and
Washington. In northeast Kansas, Brown, Jackson, Jefferson,
Marshall, Nemaha, Pottawatomie and Riley.
* WHEN...From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Wednesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Thunderstorms are forecast to have access to abundant moisture
and could redevelop and move over the same locations multiple
times. By Wednesday afternoon, some locations could end up with
around 3 inches of rain with locally higher amounts possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
