The strongest storms may produce wind gusts up to 60 mph and heavy rainfall. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday Small storm chances, mainly at night, exist over the next week. Widespread severe weather is not expected. Heat indices will climb above 100 degrees Saturday through Thursday across much of the area. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
