This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Dangerous heat indices of 105 to 110 will develop across the region
this afternoon and into early evening. An Excessive Heat Warning
remains in effect until 7PM this evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Heat indices of 100 to 104 will affect portions of Labette and
Neosho counties for a few hours Sunday afternoon.

A few strong storms with nickel sized hail, winds of 50 to 60 mph
and heavy rain are possible for much of southeast and portions of
south central Kansas on Sunday afternoon. Wide spread severe weather
is not expected but an isolated severe storm can`t be ruled out.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not anticipated today or tonight.

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS
EVENING...

* Heat Index Values...Up to 108 due to temperatures in the upper
  80s...and dewpoints around 70.

* TIMING...From this afternoon and continuing through early
  Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses due to the prolonged period
  of heat and humidity. The most susceptible are the elderly,
  very young and animals. You should be prepared for dangerous
  heat!

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of heat
and humidity will create a dangerous situation where heat
illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of fluids and stay in an air
conditioned room. Stay out of the sun and check up on relatives
and neighbors. Watch your pets! Temperatures within vehicles can
become lethal in only a few minutes. Never leave children or pets
in vehicles for any duration! Remember to beat the heat, check
the backseat and to "Look before you lock".
